The essential guide to basic handyman tools (Everything a man must own)
We moved to a new Apartment.
And thats just one of the many excuses I've come up with for the lack of updates :)
I've learned a few things about being a man, and being handy around the house.
First, you need tools:
1) Leatherman
2) Zippo
3) Maglite
Every man should have these 3 items. No excuses.
The Leatherman, has everything you'll ever need. Think of it as a more robust Swiss Army Knife, with bigger pliers.
A Zippo... no explanation needed. Man make Fire!
A Maglite, not a little mini-maglite. A proper Maglite. At least a 3 D-Cell Maglite. Nice and heavy, great for attacking unwanted intruders, and useful if you find yourself in the dark.
And all 3 of them have a lifetime warranty.

See in theory that might work but in practice it does not. Sure yesterday I managed to fix a broken toilet with a leatherman but failed to wire new sockets with any over the above. (by wiring I mean chasing and fitting and plastering....
I didn't say you'd be able to do _everything_ with them.
Basic handyman tools Tom.
See I just think everyone has a different interpretation of the basic work around that house.
You guys are crazy :D
hello
this technology continues to be amazing to me...i wandered on to your web site...i hope i am not being intrusive...
I am an american from California...in 2002 i bought a wreck of a cottage in co.Tipperary...over the summers i have made it into a home for my wife and I in Ireland. We think of our cottage in Portroe as our "real" home though we are only able to spend 6 months of every year here. I am 73 and my wife at 60 has to work 3 more years before she can retire and we can move to Ireland "full time".
I was looking for some help concerning this question....we have our PPS identifications and are working toward citizenship. I have a very small American retirement income..as will my wife when she quits her job. BUT The dollar is worth so little these days that it cost us a BIG penalty to convert them to EUROS...
We own a half acre with the cottage and we have money in Bank of Ireland...my wife has even taught at LImerick University....and we are serious about citizenship....my question is this...i have been retired for a dozen years in the Uniited States...could i trade my American retirement income for an Irish retirement income?
I have not been able to find anyone who can answer this question for me...if you direct me to some one who could help me i would certainly appreciate that.
by the way speaking of "handyman" i have several videos at YOU Tube.... POPARTUSA that show the work that i did ( myself ) to the cottage...since 2003 when was a LOT younger!!

hello
can i ask you a question about becomiing an irish citizen?

Hi bob.
Unfortunately, I wouldn't know much about your situation.
I'm 26, and needed a Work permit just to come to Ireland. My South African passport only allows me to stay here for 3 months, and I'm not allowed to earn an income without the work permit.
The best resource for finding information about citizenship, is http://www.citizensinformation.ie/
Good luck on your investigations!
