I rented a few movies from the local Xtra-vision for the weekend.

So we get all cozy on the couch, with a pizza and some popcorn.
First, we get the 2 minutes of Disclaimers and Copyright notices, in 23 different languages. And then a notice from the FBI, in a few hundred other languages.
Then we’re forced to sit through a “Downloading-a-movie-is-like-stealing-a-car” clip, which you cannot fast forward, skip or even pause.

Ever wondered just how close you are to getting your pizza free for taking too long to get delivered?

Now Domino's lets you view your Order progress online, with their Pizza Tracker

I think this may be overkill though.

A few select quotes, from USA Today:
"I don't know how many consumers are twisting and turning over the state of their delivery pizza."

Engadget has an article on the Force Dynamics 401 simulator chair.
This thing is dangerous. I’d be afraid of crashing, because it’ll hurt too much.
Now thats realism..

It was another classic Jeremy Clarkson moment.

CD's of data are disappearing all over Britain (Okay, maybe not.. but a good few have gone missing thanks to the UK Government), and they're full of private financial data.

So there's a massive buzz of privacy groups going on about mass identity theft, etc etc.

Clarkson, understandably, got a little bit pissed off over all the noise that was being generated by it, so he published his personal banking details in his column of the Sunday Times. He called the whole lot a "storm in a teacup".

Well, as it turns out, he was wrong. And boy does he look silly with all that egg on his face.

Someone set up a Direct Debit on his account, every month, for the value of £500. A donation to the British Diabetic Association.

Oops.

Nobody here but us ferns...

Noah Kalina took a picture of himself every day for more than 6 years and put them together in a video. The Simpsons did this too, Homer takes a picture of himself every day for 39 years.

What do you do when someone manufactures an already awesome little, low-spec laptop? Why, you make it more awesome!

Another Project

Now that my MythTV Project (well, Phase 1) is nearing completion, I’ve come up with a few new projects.

I’m not sure why I feel this need to have many little projects on the go… I barely have enough time to put into one project.

Anyway, Here’s my idea.

Microsoft’s Marketing department came up with this one a few months back.
The Microsoft Surface. Looks cool, I can see the potential, but I think its a long way away from being something that everyone has in their lounge.

Keep in mind, the technology behind the Multi-touch interface has been around alot longer than Microsoft Surface (Check out the bottom of this page to see some examples of earlier systems). The US Military have been putting alot of money into it too…
